    How do you invest in stocks outside Singapore? are there value for money brokers to use? Thanks

      Hi John,

      It depends on the stock exchanges you’re looking at. If it’s regional (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, etc), your local stockbroker should be able to purchase stocks listed on those exchanges for an extra nominal fee.

      If you’re looking at the NYSE and NASDAQ, there are a few US brokers with a local presence and offices in Singapore like OptionsXpress, thinkorswim, E-trade, etc. The fees are usually much lower for trading US stocks compared to your local brokers.

      For European markets, you can look at Saxo Capital Markets. The only drawback is that your stocks are under custodian holdings rather than CDP in Singapore.
