The Fifth Person wins best independent investment website at SGX Orb Awards
The Fifth Person is honoured to have won best independent investment website in the ‘GoTo.com’ category at the inaugural SGX Orb Awards organised by the Singapore Exchange (SGX). The award recognises the independent investment-related website or financial blog that most empowers investors to make educated decisions with their money.
The Fifth Person editor-in-chief, Adam Wong, received the award from SGX CEO Loh Boon Chye at the annual Media Appreciation Night held on 19 July in Singapore. Award winners from five other categories at the event included CNBC, Channel NewsAsia, The Straits Times, The Business Times, and The Edge.
The SGX Orb Awards was launched to recognise excellence in financial journalism and content in an evolving media landscape. Over 100 nominations from print and broadcast media, online news sites, and independent investment websites and bloggers were received by the SGX and judged by an independent panel comprising senior executives from Deloitte, Google News Lab, Nasdaq, and an international broadcasting industry veteran.
Teo Ai June, Head of Marketing and Communications at SGX, said,
“The rise of social media and mobile technology has transformed the way investors consume financial news, challenging content producers in new ways. The SGX Orb Awards are an opportunity for us to recognise and encourage journalists and bloggers alike to produce insightful and engaging stories that help the public make better-informed investment decisions.”
We’d like to sincerely thank SGX for their support, and everyone who has played their part in helping The Fifth Person reach where we are today, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙂
