The Fifth Person is deeply honoured to have won its second award for best independent investment website in Singapore in the ‘GoTo.com’ category at the 2020 SGX Orb Awards. The Fifth Person first won the award at the inaugural 2018 SGX Orb Awards. Editor-in-chief, Adam Wong, received the award (virtually) from SGX CEO Loh Boon Chye at SGX’s annual Media Appreciation Night which was held online on 7 October.
Organised by the Singapore Exchange, the SGX Orb Awards seeks to recognise excellence in financial journalism and content. Award winners from four other categories at the event included Channel NewsAsia, The Business Times, The Edge, and Venture Views.
Nominations and award winners were selected by a panel of independent judges comprising Charles Shi, a professor at NUS Business School and an authority on accounting standards and financial investment; Goh Swee Chen, former chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore and chair of Global Compact Network Singapore; Jeremy Grant, an international writer and former Financial Times journalist; and Lyndon Chao, Managing Director of the Equities and Post Trade Division at the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA).
